Eboard position: Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship
Year in school: Sophomore
Internships or Work Experience: In the past I’ve worked as a sports Camp Counselor, where I supervised large groups of children in their day-to-day activities. I was also the Assistant Tennis Coach at my high school’s summer program – I worked with children, teaching them the fundamentals of the sport. Most recently, I’ve taken an initiative to pursue my interest in fashion by starting a blog, that focuses on providing readers the inspiration for experimentation with their style in an affordable manner. Writing weekly posts and doing photo shoots became one of the most enjoyable things for me.
Favorite Things About AMA: AMA is a unique organization that provides balance to its members. We’re not too serious and not too fun – we’re somewhere in between. People in AMA know how to relax but they also know how to work hard! I think our happy but focused mindset allows us to achieve great success as a Student Professional Organization (SPO).
What You’ve Learned From AMA: If you want something, show effort and prove everyone how bad your desire for the opportunity is. You have to work your hardest to achieve. If you do just that, people will surely acknowledge. And if something doesn’t work out exactly the way you expected, do everything you possibly can to adjust to the situation and succeed no matter the rough patches.
What You’d Like To Do In Your Career: Have you ever seen Devil Wears Prada? If you haven’t, you should. Inspired by the movie, I’d love to live in a big city and work as a creative mind behind fashion’s most notable publications and designers. I want to come up with new concepts that will move the fashion world forward as well as expand it. In such a fast-paced world, I want to bring change and make an impact on the fashion industry, showing each customer & reader a brand new way to see things. And if I ever work for Anna Wintour (Chief Editor of VOGUE), you can say I made it.
